The Pittsburgh Photography Market is a one day, pop-up event coming to Nova Place on Friday, November 10th. It will run from 10 AM – 7:30 PM. This event was designed for the many photographers in Pittsburgh. It provides them with an opportunity to have an affordable venue in which to sell their work, network with other creatives, and connect with the broader Pittsburgh community.
This event is free to the public! Take a break from your work day and be sure come down and buy some prints from your favorite Pittsburgh photographers. They make great décor for your home or office, or a fabulous gift to give for the holidays.
If you are interested in learning about photography rather than purchasing it, there are three free workshops being hosted during the day. Each one will last 30 – 45 minutes.
Portraits – Take part in an interactive, hands-on portrait workshop that will help you improve your skills behind the camera, as well as teach you how to utilize existing light while taking portraits. Time: TBA
Pet Photography workshop: Come meet a few furry friends from Humane Animal Rescue (HAR) and learn techniques on how to get the best pet photos from pet lover and photographer Amy @pawsburgh. This workshop will be held in the early afternoon. Time: TBA (will be day time)
Pittsburgh History – Join Darren Toth @yinztergram as he shares his entertaining take on Pittsburgh history, sharing stories and then & now photos. For this workshop, a camera is not required. Time: 5:30pm-6:30pm
In addition to being able to buy amazing photographs or attend a workshop, the Pittsburgh Photography Market is also hosting a raffle to help support The Woodlands Foundation. The Woodlands Foundation is an organization that strives to enrich the lives of children and adults with disability and chronic illness. The photos below, all part of the raffle, are by @pengwinzer, @crazycitylady, and @downtownburgher respectively. To see more of their work, check out their Instagram pages.
Even though the event is quickly approaching, it isn’t too late to register as a photographer. To learn more about the event or to secure a vendor booth, sign up here:
