Pittsburgh Gives Back

Pittsburgh is a lively city with exciting things to do almost every single day of the year. From restaurants to try, places to see, activities to participate in, and art to look at, what more could you want? How about the opportunity to embrace what Pittsburgh has to offer all the while supporting a good cause! Whether you want to donate as a company or individually there is a charity event to suit you. Listed below are some of the finest and most fun ways to give back this summer!

Rebel Against Parkinson’s. This event will be held Tuesday, July 18 th at the Wigle Whiskey Garden and Barrelhouse starting at 6:30 pm. This event is hosted by The Parkinson Foundation of Western Pennsylvania and will include live music, cocktails, treats, and a silent auction. Cost of admission for this event is $75.

Western PA Lamb Cook Off. Venture to ACE Hotel Pittsburgh Sunday, July 23 rd between 2 and 6 pm to taste delicious lamb from some of the most talented chefs in the area. In addition, there will be DJS, cocktails, and beers to enjoy. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Pittsburgh Emergency Medicine Foundation. Tickets to this event are $50.

BarkHappy Barks n’ Brews. Saturday, July 29 th , head over to East End Brewing Co. with your pups to for a party benefitting Humane Animal Rescue! The party is from 5pm ‘til 7pm and will include giveaways, raffles, and swag. The doggies will enjoy pools, photo booths and even Treat Eating Contest! Early Bird tickets are $12 and include tons of free goodies. General Admission is $15. Note: this event in 21+.

Mad for Creative Reuse. Support Pittsburgh Center for Creative Reuse by attending their event at Mad Mex in Shadyside on Tuesday, August 1st from 7-9pm. This event will include a buffet and a complimentary Dos Equis beer or house margarita for those over 21. There will also be a silent auction for local artwork. Tickets are $35 a person.

JDRF Tailgate. UPMC, UPMC Health Plan and Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh are hosting a JDRF Tailgate on Sunday, August 6th, before Type I Diabetes Awareness Day at the Pittsburgh Pirates game. You can get discounted Pirates Tickets at and a portion of the cost will be donated to JDRF. No cost to tailgate but they advise you to register!

BikePGH Beer Release. Thursday, August 10th join BikePGH at the Grist House Brewery to try the limited edition beer for BikePGH’s Anniversary. $1 from each purchased beer will be donated to BikePGH. Stop by the Grist House from 5-10pm for the release party of the Outspoken Unfiltered Session Ale.

UPMC Health Plan PedalPGH. Register to pedal around Pittsburgh Sunday, August 27th from 7am-3pm. Registration includes access to 4 different courses, t-shirt, water bottle, snacks, and a festival. BikePGH has partnered with the American Cancer Society to raise funds for both causes. Registration is $40 for non-bikePGH members.
