Maker Faire, created in 2006 in San Francisco has since turned into a worldwide network of creative thinkers and doers. The Children’s Museum invites you to attend Maker Faire Pittsburgh for a showcase of creative “makers” eager to share what they can do with you. From interesting hobbies to fascinating experiments, this event will excite your imagination. The best part, free admission!
After checking out the incredible inventions at the Faire, head over to the Nova Place Plaza for Move Your Maker: After Hours Party! From 4:00-8:00 p.m. grab a bite to eat, enjoy the music and participate in the activities! Over 21? Sip refreshing craft beers from Rivertowne Brewing!
What’s on the Menu?
Enjoy delicious street tacos from Cool Beans, out-of-this world burgers and fries from Pittsburgh Sandwich Society, and gourmet hot dogs from Bulldawgs, and even more food trucks will be here to taste!
Bindley Hardware Co., a local rust-belt Americana band, will serenade you with songs influenced by classic country, folk and modern alt-country. As if that wasn’t enough, more bands will be here to play you hits as well!
What to do?
We know you will be feeling inspired after the Maker Faire so the Andy Warhol Museum is coming to the plaza to bring you awesome activities to participate in! In addition, the lawn will have cornhole boards for a little friendly competition to ensue between you and friends! There will be many more ways to have fun and enjoy your Saturday Night.
