Just a 10-minute walk from Nova Place, you will find delicious food, great wines, and artfully curated cheese plates. Casellula, located inside Alphabet City, is owned by Brian Keyser, and is a branch of his original restaurant, opened in New York City in 2007. Brian wanted to open a second Casellula outside of New York and found the perfect home for his new restaurant inside the headquarters of Pittsburgh’s City of Asylum, a community for writers, readers, and neighbors to thrive.
Casellula’s menu includes over 25 different cheeses and 60 different wines. In addition to cheese plates, light snacks and shareables such as olives, pickles and cured meats are served. Casellula’s dinner menu also includes meals such as grilled cheese sandwiches and pasta. Finish off your meal with one of their fabulous desserts including, Cheesecake, Pistachio tart, and Semifreddo, an Italian semi-frozen dessert. Casellula’s wine selection includes, sparkling, white, rose, and red sold by the glass or bottle. Specialty cocktails and beer is also served. If you aren’t convinced enough to grab a meal here, Nova Place Tenants receive 20% off food purchases!
The restaurant is open for dinner every evening and has recently started serving brunch every Saturday and Sunday morning. Casellula does accept reservations! Hours are as follows:
Sunday-Thursday: 5 p.m. – 10 p.m.
Friday- Saturday: 5 p.m. – 12 a.m.
