In case you missed it, Federal Galley, our new on-site restaurant and beer garden, announced their chefs on September 20th in an exclusive Pittsburgh Magazine article! Federal Galley is the brain-child of Tyler Benson and Ben Mantica, and it will take after their wildly successful first restaurant –Smallman Galley—located in the Strip District. Like its sister-restaurant, Federal Galley will include small restaurants within. These four distinct restaurants coming to Federal Galley will bring new lunch and dinner options for tenants and Pittsburghers alike.
We’re excited that the folks at Smallman Galley have chosen this location, because it moves Nova Place in the direction of a community, rather than just an office space. Nova Place is set to be a destination for foodies and cocktail lovers alike!
The new Federal Galley will have 150 seats inside and 100 seats on the patio, therefore satisfying both those who enjoy sitting indoors and those who prefer the fresh air. It’s set to open in the fall!
So, who are the chefs?
Meet Kristin Calverly & Nate Peck of Michigan & Trumbull:
Get your pizza-fix at Federal Galley! According to Pittsburgh Magazine, Michigan & Trumbull will open with three pizza builds on the menu: “Packard pepperoni,” with red sauce, mozzarella, pickled chiles, pepperoni and housemade hot-honey; “Woodward white,” with mozzarella, ricotta, red pepper flakes, lemon zest and garlic oil; “Cass Corridor,” a vegan pizza for which they’re still working out the specific toppings.
Meet Stephen K. Eldridge and Susan Cope: Provision PGH and El Lugar
Famous for its Provision burger, Provision will bring burgers, sandwiches, and eventually an expanded menu with vegetable-forward dishes.
According to Pittsburgh Magazine, El Lugar’s menu will go well beyond a stereotypical Cal-Mex list of tacos and burritos and also will focus on items such as sopes, tortas, huarache and ceviche.
Meet Vincent Perri of Supper
Supper will be a New American restaurant within Federal Galley. According to Pittsburgh Magazine, Supper will offer bites, snacks, sandwiches, and plates. Dishes include cauliflower mash with ras el hanout and pine-nut crumble, cumin-scented squash soup with chile and raisin compote, crispy socca and cilantro oil, and a suckling-pig shank with confit belly, daikon sauerkraut, carrot puree, brandied apple and spicy pecan.
We hope you’re as excited as we are for this new restaurant to join the Nova Place community!
