Eat and Drink Your Way Through August

For most, August is spent remembering activities you wanted to do this summer and wishing you had more time to do them. However, there is still plenty of time left to make the most of the last month of summer and there is no place more equipped with good times and good food for you than Pittsburgh.

August events provide more than enough opportunities to sip on a cold one while stuffing your face with some of the most delicious food in the city. Pick from the list of events included, gather your Nova Place colleagues, friends and family and end your summer the right way!

Little Italy Days – August 17th-20th
Head over to Bloomfield for four days of Italian food, games, music and activities. Eat as much delicious food as you can while being entertained by the Miss Little Italy Pageant, a Bocce Tournament, and Italian Idol along with a ton of other performances!

Banging and Brewing — August 18th
Make your own customized beer mug while brewing your very own beer! The instructor, Sean Macmillian is a Metalsmithing professor and an experienced at-home brewer providing you with expert training on the creation of both your mug and your brew! This event is in the Strip District.

Corks and Kegs Festival — August 19th and 20th
Make the trek out to Meadows Casino for a festival full of beer, wine, food, and live music! The event hosts over 25 craft breweries, a handful of wineries, and even a few distilleries. Stroll down food truck row with your drink of choice and taste a variety of cuisines. Don’t worry; you can bring your whole family to this free event!

Endless Summer Luau — August 27th
From 2-5pm spend your Sunday afternoon at the Biergarten partaking in this Hawaiian-themed festivity. Your ticket includes traditional foods such as pork, salmon and poke, as well as fruity cocktails. The event will have activities for you and even children to enjoy!

Red, Ripe, & Roasted: Tomato & Garlic Festival — August 27th
Phipps Conservatory is holding the 13th annual festival, which benefits Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank. The event will have cooking demos and tastings, contests and prizes, local vendors selling fresh produce and activities to entertain the kids! Enjoy thee fresh treats and fun day for free!

Maybe these dates don’t work for you? There is still fun for you to have in Pittsburgh! Get your thrills at Kennywood Amusement Park or take a walk through Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium any day of the week! Don’t worry you won’t have to miss out on the delicious food trucks, every Monday, Wednesday and Friday Nova Place Plaza hosts a different food truck for you to taste!
